As we move through our life, our body internalizes, processes and filters our experiences – mostly without conscious awareness. Thoughts and feelings held within the body can be the source of stress, emotional and physical pain and discomfort. Yoga Therapy is a self empowering process exploring the relationship between the body, the mind and one’s life experience.
Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy is a holistic and integrative approach to yoga therapy that serves to bridge yoga and mind-body psychology. Using present centered embodied awareness, hands on assists and therapeutic dialogue this mind body approach is a self-empowering process, and facilitates growth and healing. PRYT is the ground from which I offer Yoga Therapy to my clients.
Yoga Therapy Sessions may include breathing techniques, postures, meditation, and relaxation techniques.
Offered through private or small group sessions.

The worry and stress associated with life changing transitions and life threatening illnesses can be profound. As a result we may find ourselves struggling to be present and aware of our current situation in the moment. Making even simple everyday decisions can be overwhelming.
So much of life’s journey is uncontrollable and unpredictable. If we can prepare ourselves to handle the more challenging stages in our life by bringing stress and anxiety under control we can improve our quality of life and once again, become an active participant in our own healing.
Embodied Mindfulness facilitates awareness of the connection between our physical experience and our mental/emotional experience in a non-judgemental and accepting way, while in the present moment.
As a practice the embodied mindfulness sessions offer skills to work with anxiety, sleeplessness and pain, while for some it may be about cultivating a healthier and more compassionate relationship with oneself and others. Sessions are guided by the needs and physical abilities of those in the group on the day. The practice may include gentle stretching, yoga, meditation and breathing practice along with therapeutic dialogue and group support. No experience with meditation or yoga is necessary.
Offered through group or private sessions.
Mindfulness is being fully aware of whatever is happening in the present moment, and not being trapped in the past or worrying about the future.
